SES Bear gets a Name

A little while ago, the Hedland SES Unit welcomed a new member into its ranks in the form of an SES Bear Mascot. This posed a bit of a dilemma, with regards to completing the membership application as the bear did not have a name.

Not to let that stop us, we invited the youth community to submit suggestions for a suitable name and were inundated with suggestions. In going through the names there were sssoooo many great and fantastic names and alot showed some considerable thought went into the suggestion.

This morning the Volunteers and Bear visited Baler Primary School to announce the Bears name and to present an award to the winning entrant.

Well done to Lily Del Borello with her winning suggestion of “Storm” which the Bear has added a y to it making it Stormy.
